Contest Yachts Impresses at the Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous
PHUKET, 8 December 2017 – Contest Yachts impressed over 80 guests who attended its launch cocktail party held on the pre-event opening night of the Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous 2017 (KRSR).
It proved the KRSR is the right event on the Asian yachting calendar to introduce elite brands and reach a high net worth target audience.
Owned and operated by Holland’s Conijn family for over three generations, Contest Yachts shines in the sailing world with a distinguished history of combining traditional craftsmanship with ultra-modern technology and innovative design.
According to Mr Arjen Conijn, Contest Yachts CEO, the company has watched with keen interest as the Asia Pacific market opens to European, luxury-brand yachting.
“As Contest Yachts represents the very best standards of Dutch sailing yacht design and construction, it is definitely time we launched here. We are now truly pleased to be in Asia, and look forward to meeting and working with the region’s growing yachting community,” he said.
Contest Yachts believes that to explore and grow in a new region it is important to arrive not just with excellent yachts but with the right marketing partner, one that knows the market intimately. To achieve all the company’s objects, cross the huge Asia Pacific market, Mr Conijn said it requires a very special partner, one with an effective local presence across the entire region.
He added: “Contest Yachts is delighted to be working with Northrop & Johnson, headquartered in Hong Kong and with local national offices in six other nations: Thailand, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines. We couldn’t be better placed.”
Regarding the timing and launch venue for the announcement, Contest Yachts came away impressed with the rapid accession of the KRSR.
“The Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous has quickly proven itself as an important event on the yachting calendar, attracting high-quality contributors and a terrific audience. It is highly representative of the high end of yachting potential in the Asian region and we are equally pleased to a part of this year’s KRSR as we are looking forward to introducing Contest Yachts to the widest possible audience,” Mr Conijn concluded.
