Guests have voted Kata Rocks a 2026 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award winner. The award places our oceanfront Phuket resort in the top ten per cent of properties worldwide.
No panel decides this one. There is no submission, no judging criteria, nothing to argue for. Tripadvisor gives the award to properties that consistently earn great reviews and rank in the top ten per cent on the platform. In other words, guests write it themselves, one review at a time.
That makes it a different kind of recognition. It is also a much harder one to engineer.
What Guests Write About
The reviews rarely open with the villa.
Instead, they tend to start somewhere smaller. A driver notices a long flight and suggests a stop for food before check-in. A Rock Star remembers which side of the pool catches the last of the sun. A guest spells a spa therapist’s name carefully, twice, so the right person gets the credit.
Most guests come for the setting, and they say so. But when they sit down to write, they want to talk about our colleagues. That pattern has held for years, across hundreds of reviews. It is also the part of this award we like most. Anyone can build an infinity pool. The rest takes people who care whether your evening goes well, every day.
The Resort Behind the Reviews
Kata Rocks sits on the oceanfront at Kata Beach, on Phuket’s west coast, where the villas step down the rock face above the Andaman Sea.
There are 34 Sky Villas. They range from one to four bedrooms and from 175 to 460 square metres. Each villa has a private infinity pool, an open living and dining area, and a fully fitted European kitchen. Housekeeping comes daily, with evening turndown.
The 35 metre infinity pool runs the length of the oceanfront. The Clubhouse, the bar and lounge, the fitness centre and Infinite Luxury Spa all sit alongside it.

This year, the Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards named Kata Rocks Best Luxury Boutique Hotel in Thailand and Best Luxury Apartments in Thailand. The same awards named us Best Family Villa in Asia and Best Boutique Villa globally. Infinite Luxury Spa took Best Hideaway Spa and Best Relaxation Retreat on a global level, plus Best Resort Spa and Best Spa Design in Asia.
