Elephant Parade comes to Kata Rocks

For our guests who like elephants and art, please take note: Kata Rocks hosts a Mini Elephant Parade of 7 fabulously decorated 75cm high elephant statues. These colourful, artsy statues are part of a greater Elephant Parade currently taking place in Phuket, which can be visited until 20 August. 30 full size elephant statues, all skillfully designed and patterned, are on display in multiple stunning locations across the island, such as at Project Artisan. Find all locations on the map below.

What is Elephant Parade?

Elephant Parade is the world’s leading public art exposition in aid of the Asian elephant by organising international exhibitions of decorated elephant statues. Created by artists and celebrities, each Elephant Parade statue is a unique piece of art. The life-size, baby elephant statues are exhibited in international cities in order to raise awareness for elephant protection and conservation.

Elephant Parade aims to not only raise awareness against the cruelty and extinction of elephants, but also to kick-start tourism in Thailand, being a leader in the tourism industry. The Elephant Parade Event in Phuket is the largest of its kind in Asia since the pandemic.

The reason that Elephant Parade came into existence is to help a beautiful elephant called Mosha, who was based at ‘Friends of the Asian Elephant’. This is the world’s first elephant hospital in Lampang, where Mosha was treated for losing part of her leg on a landmine.
