Phoodie Phuket | On The Rocks

There is a table at Kata Rocks that sits apart from everything else. Set on the rocks at the water’s edge, it is yours for the evening, with the sun going down over the Andaman and the sea moving gently below.

For PHOODIE, Phuket’s island-wide food festival, Dining on the Rocks is served with a choice of two five-course menus. One looks west, the other stays close to home, and both make the most of the produce found along this coast.

    The Western Menu

Begin with chilled Phuket lobster, blue crab and prawns to share, followed by an Andaman ceviche of local rock fish with coconut and green chilli. Grilled sea bass arrives with native citrus butter, or choose the Kampot pepper fillet, flambéed with Cognac. To finish, a chocolate fondant made with Kad Kokoa 70% chocolate from Chumphon.

    The Thai Menu

Crisp golden tong tong cups open the evening, before a lobster tom yum goong rich with lemongrass, lime and chilli. Seared scallop salad leads to steamed Thai snapper or soft shell crab in turmeric red curry. Mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream brings the night to a gentle close.

Vegetarian dishes feature on both menus, from fresh spring rolls to roasted cauliflower with Korean gochujang glaze.

    Your PHOODIE Passport

Every guest receives a PHOODIE Passport with dinner, good for a bite or a drink at PHOODIE Meet at Limelight, Phuket Town, on 28 November.
