Kata Rocks Collective Series ‘Route 66’

‘Route 66’ defines the quintessential American road trip and will be forever regarded as a part of the rich cultural history of the United States. The classic American culture that was born on the infamous Route 66 highway is this inspiration for the third installment of Kata Rocks Collective Series events. The first two, ‘New Gin Revival’ and ‘The Rum Diaries’ both proved hugely popular and have energised Phuket’s drinking and dining culture from a fresh new perspective.

‘Route 66’ continues to build on these exciting events with a celebration of American heritage in all its nostalgic glory. It will showcase some of the best examples of traditional American exports including rye whiskey, craft beers, handmade vodka, era defining music, custom motorcycles and ‘finger lickin’ good’ southern-state cuisine.

Front and center will be a an ‘All-American’ barbeque menu including a selection of comfort food classics mixed with a hint of Creole flavors to spice up the offering.

Guests can feast on a Blue Cheese and Maple Bacon ‘Loaded’ Burger; Haute-dog with ‘Baseball Mustard’, American Relish & Crispy Onions; Chargrilled Pork Ribs with Craft Beer Honey Glaze; Buffalo Chicken Wings with Vinegar Mayo; Rittenhouse Rye Marinated Pork Belly; Grilled Vegetables Brochette with Homemade Chimichurri Sauce; Grilled Corn on the Cob with Cilantro Lime Butter; Daddy’s Deep-Fried Dates Wrapped in Smokey Bacon; Red Cabbage ‘Southern State’ Slaw and Mashed Potatoes with Sour Cream and Spring Onion.

If that doesn’t stick to your ribs then there must be room for dessert. Sticky Pecan Pie, Mississippi Mud Cake, Soft Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies or Kata Rocks ‘Key Lime’ Cones are sure to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.

Wash all this down with featured craft beers from Anderson Valley ‘Summer Solstice’ and  Deschutes ‘River Ale’ or a superior selection of creative cocktails made from Tito’s Handmade Vodka or Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey.

The event will be held on Saturday 29 August 2015 from 5pm to 8pm. Tickets are priced at 2,500 baht (US$ 70) per person inclusive of free flow drinks and all-you-can-eat barbeque served from multiple cooking stations.
