Baan Rim Pa
Baan Rim Pa
Baan Rim Pa Kalim and Baan Rim Pa Patong are considered two of the best Thai restaurants in Phuket. Both are built on spectacular west facing locations in the middle of the island that offer panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and dramatic sunsets.
Since it first opened its doors over two decades ago, Baan Rim Pa established a benchmark of excellence for ‘Royal Thai Cuisine’ in Phuket. This culinary tradition originally was born from food served to members of the royal family in its many palaces around Thailand.
Diners at Baan Rim Pa Patong are treated to the sounds of waves crashing on the rocks below, adding another romantic sensory layer to any meal at this open-air, two-story teak house on a cliff.
It’s sister restaurant Baan Rim Pa Kalim opened in 2015 two kilometres north of the original Baan Rim Pa Patong. As impossible as it might seem the group has pulled off an amazing feat by finding an even more beautiful location than the original. Another solid teak house is perched on the side of a cliff directly over the water, looking back to the beach at Patong. Day or night the views are breathtaking. The décor and atmosphere emulates the original and includes a piano and cocktail bar, wine cellar and the same sumptuous Royal Thai cuisine.
Panaeng Ped (duck curry with lychee) and Goong Sarong (prawns hand-wrapped in vermicelli and quickly fried) are only two highlights of the many culinary delights available on its extensive menu.
Last year the group’s consistent commitment to quality won it Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Award of Excellence 2015. The award recognises restaurants from around the world for wine lists that offer interesting and extensive selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine connoisseurs.
Outstanding cuisine, exemplary locations and wine excellence — either Baan Rim Pa Phuket outlet has it all. It is a must visit Thai restaurant in Phuket for anyone on a Thai holiday.
