Wellness for Ocean & Soiree by the sea
Wellness for Ocean & Soiree by the sea
As Sylvia Earle, famous Oceanographer once said “No Water, No Life. No Blue, No Green”. Over the past decade, ocean conservancy has become more crucial to our generation than ever before. In year’s Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous 2019 Kata Rocks will be advocating ocean conservancy by collaborating with two non-profit organisations.
Firstly is the global-based International SeaKeepers Society. The organisation supports oceanographic research, conservation and education by direct involvement with the yachting community. They do this by utilizing privately owned yachts as platforms for oceanographic researchers and more.
Our second collaborating organisation is the Oceans For All Foundation (OFA). Founded by Phuket based David Martin and Thibault Salaun, OFA aims to become a central platform for initiatives in regards to environmental issues – such as coral restoration and recycling waste thrown into the ocean. For the OFA, they believe that “the tourism industry must be a leading promoter of actions towards the preservation of the Ocean”.
As our first step towards upholding this message of marine conservation for KRSR 2019, Kata Rocks will be hosting a pre-KRSR Ocean activity with our “Wellness for Ocean” event on 7 December, 2019, followed by the Soiree by The Sea Charity Gala Dinner during the Superyacht Rendezvous on 14 December, 2019.
