A marvelous beach for all water sports, Surin Beach is considered one of the premier surf spots in the northern part of Phuket. Nearby is Thailand’s first golf course which is now a park and grazing area for water buffalo. During the monsoon Surin Beach is known for strong rip tides so while swimmers should exercise extreme caution, surfers are free to ride the waves when the winds turn offshore.
Recently all buildings on the beach have been removed leaving only sand, palm trees and a lonely lifeguard shack. The idea of keeping the beaches natural is good except when visitors are hungry or thirsty, so beach goers should bring a picnic or stop at a convenience store before arriving at Surin Beach.
