Richard has been a property developer for over 20 years in the UK. He has been running his own construction and property development companies focusing solely on developing residential property. These development projects have mainly been very high quality projects in the exclusive area of Notting Hill in London.
Richard has also built a large portfolio of high-end rental properties in Notting Hill, which are let to city bankers and other professionals. He also runs the estate management companies for his properties as well as for others.
At the end of 2007, Richard entered the Phuket property market purchasing the Kata Rocks site and has taken the development forward to become one of the most high profile projects in Thailand. Having already won numerous awards at the prestigious International Property Awards including “Best Apartment in Thailand 2010,” “Highly Commended Best Development in Thailand” and “Best Apartment in Asia Pacific 2010,” the Kata Rocks Club Penthouse has gone on to win the title “Best Apartment in the World 2010” out of competing entries from 110 countries.
Adrian established Original Vision in 1992 in Hong Kong with the goal of developing new concepts in contemporary tropical architecture. In the past 18 years, he has designed and built many of Asia's most significant villas. He has received numerous international design awards including the "Best Architect in Thailand" award in 2006 for his Samsara project in Phuket. This year he has won the double of “Best Villa in Asia Pacific 2010” for Villa Amanzi in Phuket along with “Best Apartment in Asia Pacific 2010” for Kata Rocks.
Due to the number of significant Phuket property projects that Original Vision were involved with, Adrian set up an office in Phuket in 2000 and hired Steve Gorton to run the Phuket side of Original Vision. Steve, also an architect by training, heads up the project management side of Original Vision overseeing their many developments in Phuket and throughout Asia.
Kelly is an internationally acclaimed London-based interior designer with over 30 years experience in the industry. Best known for her clean lines and simple yet exotic aesthetic, Kelly combines the best of Eastern and Western design influences to imbue her spaces with balance and harmony, creating a look fit for modern living. Having spent many holidays in Phuket, her style of interior design has been influenced in Thailand so much so that one of her books is called “East Meets West: Global Design for Contemporary Interiors”.
Her celebrity clients include David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John and Jude Law amongst many others. Her appointment to the Kata Rocks project adds Bear Grylls to her very impressive client list as he is purchasing a Club Penthouse. Kelly’s interior designs have also included hotels, yachts and even the First Class cabins of British Airways. In addition to her thriving design studio, she has a successful range of home furnishings and is the author of six titles. In 2009, Kelly had the distinct honor of being appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire for her contributions to the design industry.
Kelly’s ability to create informal living spaces that are stylish, luxurious and embody the best of the ‘East meets West’ ethos is the key to her design success and will undoubtedly contribute to making Kata Rocks an icon of modern tropical living.
Briton, Julian Olds has been in the construction industry in Thailand for over 20 years. Having worked for other main contractors and gaining a Masters Degree in Construction Management, he formed DCM Solutions seven years ago. Since then, DCM has taken on some very impressive projects throughout Thailand and built an excellent reputation for delivering the highest quality of build.
DCM Solutions have been the main contractor on some of Phuket's most prestigious building developments and have a track record that speaks for itself. Some of their most recent projects include Baan Yamu (2007), Twinpalms (2008), Villa Mayavee (2010) and the Hafele Design Centre (2010).

Rob is one of London's leading lighting consultants who for over 25 years has worked on some of the best properties in London and around the world. He has designed the lighting for many famous celebrity homes and although we are not allowed to disclose names, they do include a former Beatle, amongst other A-list celebrities. He has worked closely with our interior designer, Kelly Hoppen on many projects and this partnership continues at Kata Rocks.
Rob will be working closely with our architect and audiovisual technicians to design the lighting in both the individual Sky Villas and in all the communal areas in order to enhance the best features of Kata Rocks after dark. The lighting system will be fully controlled with the latest technology to allow for certain pre-selected settings. With the touch of an iPad all the lights can dim and adjust to a pre-programmed setting for dining, watching the home theatre etc. Rob has put a great effort into designing the lighting using a variety of techniques so that the effect is subtle yet warm, but also highlights the best features of our property.
