La Barceloneta Brunch Experience
Kata Rocks’ Executive Chef, Laia Pons, is cooking up a storm for a special brunch event on Saturday 30 January.
Chef Pons finds culinary inspiration for her creative cuisine from the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, one of the Spanish city’s oldest and most renowned fishing neighbourhoods.
The La Barceloneta Brunch experience combines an authentic Mediterranean feast of delicious fresh seafood and Spanish cuisine with Kata Rocks’ magnificent oceanfront location. The resort’s in-house DJ sets the mood with chill out Balearic beats to complement the fabulous Andaman sea views and remarkable setting.
La Barceloneta Brunch features a mouth-watering seasonal menu using only the freshest possible ingredients:
Canapes begin the brunch with house marinated olives, Iberian ham with tomato bread and marinated Manchego cheese. Starters are preplaced on the table to share and consist of focaccia and baguettes, salted butter. This is followed by Fine de Claire oysters, lemon, shallot and vinegar sauce; Boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce; Baked eggs with béchamel sauce and chorizo; Imported cold cuts and selected cheese; Rocket and mozzarella salad with tomatoes and balsamic dressing; Spanish omelette, potatoes and onions; Egg Benedict, bacon and hollandaise sauce.
For the main course grand finale there is a choice of either Beef Tenderloin Rossini, pan seared foie gras and mashed potato served with a beef sauce or Grilled Sea bass, creamy spinach and roasted potatoes.
An assortment of dessert offerings completes Kata Rocks’ La Barceloneta Brunch experience.
