Phuket Carnival runs from 15th to 20th December 2008 and is held in Patong. It brings a warm welcome to the start of the island's high season. Three of us from Kata Rocks went to take a look and enjoyed the show.
Visitors and locals are all welcome to come along to this special event at the famous Patong beach road. There are lots of Authentic Thai foods from each of the regions of Thailand namely fresh sea food, papaya salad, Tom Yam Goong etc. There are Spa and Thai massage services, seasonal Thai fruits, souvenirs, clothes , art exhibits, stage shows and other fantastic cultural performances and activities over the six days of the carnival.
The most popular events are the vibrant parades and the magnificent firework displays after dark that are held on the first and the last day of the Phuket Carnival starting from Loma Park along the beach road. There will also be the long-tail boat competition and adventure competition held at Loma park.
If you have time, go and take a look and enjoy the spirit of Phuket at the Phuket Carnival 2008!
